As users around the world await their Spotify Wrapped stats, Apple Music’s answer to the popular feature is now available to everyone. The Spotify Wrapped-like feature, called Apple Music Replay, gives users a look back at their year in music by highlighting their top songs, artists, and albums they streamed.
This year’s Replay includes additional highlights, including “listening streaks” that show users the longest consecutive number of days they’ve listened to music on the streaming service.
In addition, Replay will tell you the date when you first listened to your top song, artist, and album of the year.
Replay also gives users a look back at their year by months, displaying your top songs, artists, and albums throughout the year. Plus, Replay displays “top artist streaks” to show you if you have had an artist as your #1 artist of the month for multiple consecutive months.
While past Replays have told users if they were in the top 100 listeners of an artist or genre, Apple is adding two new categories to show users if they are in the top 500 or 1,000.
After checking out all of your music highlights for the year, you can listen to all of your most-played songs in your custom Replay 2024 playlist.
In the past, users have only been able to access their Replay on the web, but this year Apple is bringing the experience to its mobile app for users on iOS 18.1 or later. If this applies to you, then you can access your Replay directly in the Apple Music app from the Home, New, and Search tabs.
If you’re on an older operating system or on Android, you can access your Replay via the web on mobile or desktop.
This year, Apple Music is also introducing a Replay feature for artists that is similar to Spotify’s Artist Wrapped. The feature lets artists see the total number of minutes Apple Music users have listened to this music over the past year. Artists can also see how many listeners they had. Plus, they can see the cities that listen to their music the most, along with which song of theirs was discovered through Shazam the most.
Apple Music’s Replay comes a week after YouTube launched its 2024 Recaps. Both companies’ year-end features arrived ahead of Spotify’s — likely in the hopes of getting the jump on music-related social media sharing.
